Empower Volleyball’s new LED lighting system enhances training quality, competition standards, and community access in Dandenong.
Client Background & Challenge
Empower Volleyball is a not-for-profit organisation based in Dandenong, Victoria, dedicated to providing quality volleyball programs for athletes aged 8 to 18. The club emphasises empowerment, excellence, and family, offering both recreational and competitive pathways to foster confidence, teamwork, and leadership among young athletes.
In 2025, Empower Volleyball inaugurated its own volleyball-only stadium at 6–12 Airlie Avenue, Dandenong. The facility features two full-length courts with professional-grade Taraflex flooring, mirroring international standards.
However, the initial lighting setup was insufficient for evening training sessions and hosting official competitions. This limitation affected scheduling flexibility, player development, and the club’s ability to serve the broader volleyball community effectively.
Solution & Implementation
Jasstech was commissioned to design and install a high-performance LED lighting system tailored to Empower Volleyball’s specific needs. Collaborating closely with the club’s leadership, Jasstech conducted a comprehensive assessment to develop a solution that would enhance visibility, safety, and energy efficiency.
The installation included Jasstech’s QuickConnect™ system and high-efficiency LED luminaires, ensuring uniform illumination with minimal glare across both courts. The system complies with AS2560 lighting standards, suitable for both training and competitive play. Specialised rigging and commissioning were executed to meet project timelines and safety requirements.
The upgraded lighting system has enabled extended evening use, improved scheduling flexibility, and a safer environment for athletes. Additionally, the energy-efficient solution aligns with Empower Volleyball’s sustainability goals, reducing long-term operational costs and maintenance needs.
The tailored lighting design also supports Empower Volleyball’s commitment to providing high-quality facilities that foster skill development and community participation. By delivering consistent lighting levels across the full court surface, the system improves visibility for players, coaches, and officials, particularly during evening training sessions and weekend competitions. This upgrade not only enhances the playing experience but also enables the venue to host higher-level events and attract broader community engagement.
