Client Background & Challenge
Trinity College is a leading educational institution known for its commitment to academic excellence and co-curricular development. The college places strong emphasis on sports participation and holistic student growth, offering a wide range of athletic programs on its expansive playing fields.
However, limited lighting across its outdoor sports grounds posed a major constraint. Training sessions were cut short during the winter months, and competitive games had to be scheduled within restricted daylight hours. This hindered the college’s ability to fully utilise its fields, accommodate growing student demand, and host community or after-school sporting events. Additionally, the existing lighting infrastructure, where present, was inefficient and no longer met performance or safety expectations.
Trinity College needed a robust, modern solution that would maximise field usability while aligning with its sustainability vision and duty of care to students and staff.
Solution & Implementation
Jasstech was engaged to deliver a tailored LED lighting solution designed to enhance Trinity College’s outdoor sports facilities and overall user experience. Our team conducted a detailed site assessment and collaborated closely with college representatives to design a high-performance lighting system that meets their specific goals for visibility, safety, functionality, and sustainability.
Advanced LED luminaires were installed across key playing areas, providing excellent illumination with consistent uniformity and minimal glare. The system was engineered to reduce unnecessary light spill into surrounding areas while ensuring full compliance with Australian lighting standards for both recreational and competitive outdoor sports environments.
With the upgrade now complete, Trinity College enjoys extended field access, safer after-hours training sessions, and significantly improved scheduling flexibility. In addition to enhanced usability, the energy-efficient system delivers lower operating costs, reduced maintenance requirements, and supports the college’s broader environmental and community engagement objectives.
