North Rugby Club

Norths Rugby Club has 90-years of rich history, competing in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition – the Hospital Cup

Background

Located in the leafy inner-city suburb of Wavell Heights, and located on Kedron Brook, it has experienced the worst of the Brisbane floods. Norths recently underwent a massive flood improvement program, which included installing new turf and drainage, as well as the lighting and flood-proofing the switchgear.

The Problem

The site originally had 4x 2000W metal halide fittings per pole, on a 4-pole system, and they were only just delivering Amateur Competition level lux and, failing on the required uniformity levels.

Solution

With the installation of the 1250W Jasstech Sports PRO, the site now can play senior night games, and has reduced the spill light – and that will make the neighbours happy(including the prolific native fauna) that call Kedron Brook their home.

In addition, the new dimming system will mean even less money wasted on ‘over-lighting’ the fields during training sessions. It will also enhance club profits due to intelligent field hire and, food and beverage sales.

Implementation

Big Country Electrical installed the Jasstech Sports PRO lights in record time, due to Jasstech’s simplified Plug’n’Play system. Our new and innovative system saves money and time, and this can only be good for clubs.
